John Goodman has been injured on a movie set in the United Kingdom at the famed Pinewood Studios ... TMZ has learned.

A source with direct knowledge tells TMZ ... the actor fell while on set, but it was not related to a stunt. We're told he hurt his hip, but he is on the mend and will be back shooting next week.

The film -- an untitled flick from four-time Academy Award winner Alejandro González Iñárritu -- boasts some big star talent alongside John ... including Tom Cruise, Jesse Plemons, Michael Stuhlbarg, Sandra Hüller and Riz Ahmed.

Justin Bieber seems to be claiming he's got nothing to prove to anyone, and he doesn't owe the world anything ... sharing it all in a cryptic social media post.

The singer-songwriter uploaded a text post on a white background to his Instagram story Saturday morning ... and, he seems to be further addressing all the speculation about his health.

Xavier was arrested Friday night on suspension of domestic violence -- specifically, an assault against a family or household member by impeding their breathing or circulation, so apparently choking.

Law enforcement tells us he is still in Williamson County jail -- without bail as he waits to appear before a judge at some point today.

It's not yet clear exactly what occurred ... but the charge is a third degree felony.
