Kobe Bryant: I'm a Loser and a Boozer

Published | Updated

After Team Kobe Bryant choked hardcore major bigtime to the Boston Celtics last night, everyone's favorite role model had some great advice for the kids -- drown your sorrows in a butt-load of alcohol!

During the press conference after the game, Kobe said he was going to "wine" and "take shots." Isn't that all he did during the game?

Stern Warning: Steakgate's a Load of Bull

NBA Commissioner David Stern didn't want to hear about our theory that a steak dinner was responsible for Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce's atrocious game three.

You'd think he'd welcome any question that didn't involve fixing NBA games.

Geeks to Madden: Jock Block This!

Published | Updated

A couple of gamers are tossing up a Hail Mary class action suit against one of the biggest video game makers -- over the biggest sports game on the market.

EA Sports has an unfair monopoly on the football game business, so the suit alleges, because they negotiated a sweetheart deal with the NFL Players Association -- essentially making "Madden" the only game on the market to feature real player names. Would you rather play with Brett Favre or QB#4? And as a final kick in the nads -- they jacked up the price, too!

EA is mum.

Lakers Crowd, Dimmed Wits

Published | Updated

It's lookin' like the Lakers played their home game last night at Villa.

During the radio play-by-play, the announcer was wondering out loud ... why no energy in the crowd? Maybe because it looked like a gigantic power outage.

Between the crazy lighting and the fact the place is filled with celebs, it's easy to see how fans might have mistaken last night's basketball game for an L.A. club.

The Lakers went dark this season so fans would focus more on the action and less on "Oh my God, there's Tobey Maguire!" And there's the whole green thing.

Nick Latchee Linked to Alyssa Milano

Published | Updated

ABC commentator Jeff Van Gundy was all about pop culture at the Lakers game last night. Pop, as in your very old father.

Jeff, it's Lachey -- not "Latchee." And he was dating Vanessa Minnillo, not Alyssa Milano.

BTW, Vanessa was at the game last night -- sans Nick. It's been almost two months since we've seen the vacation-happy couple together. Maybe he is dating Alyssa by now.

Oscar's Fishnets Fishy After All

Published | Updated

Looks like those pics of Oscar de la Hoya in drag were just too awesome to be true.

Ex-Scores stripper Milana Dravnel, who supposedly sold the saucy snaps, has dropped her multi-million dollar suit against Oscar for calling her a liar and calling the pictures out as fakes. Turns out, according to experts who analyzed the photos, Oscar was right -- they had been digitally altered and Milana was lying after all.

De La Hoya's lawyer Judd Burstein told the New York Daily News, "She was facing very large damages and so she agreed to drop the case. The case would have been dismissed anyway."

Paul Pierce: Beantown's Benedict Arnold?

Paul Pierce and the Celtics are taking on the Lakers tonight -- so it's not exactly the best time for him to be showing off his L.A. pride with a Dodgers hat.

Dog-Killer Vick Not Worth Grilling

Virginia doesn't want Michael Vick on its mind until he's done serving his first sentence for dogfighting.

A county prosecutor in Va. says that Vick's not worth the jack it'll take to spring the canine-killin' QB out of federal prison and try him on state charges -- then return him and his fellow defendants to their separate big houses. (And we don't mean their mansions.)

MV is serving a 23-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to conspiracy and dog fighting.

Baller Baby Daddy Says He's Brokeass Mountain

Published | Updated

Former Chicago Bull Jason Caffey is in some seriously deep doo doo for allegedly stiffing one of his ten kids -- yes, ten -- out of child support.

A Georgia judge initially ordered Caffey to the clink in 2007 after he got $100K behind in support payments to Lorunda Brown, the mother of one of his sons. That order was subsequently put on hold when the baller cried broke and filed for bankruptcy.

Brown's lawyer now wants to know, penny by penny, where all of Caffey's jack went -- including the $35 million that he made in his last NBA contract.

BTW, Caffey had those ten kids with eight women. That's King Baby Daddy to you.

Caffey's lawyer said they'll be there at this week's hearing to deal with the case.
