PGA legend John Daly thinks Donald Trump's presidency will benefit more than just white America ... telling TMZ Sports he thinks Trump will do more for minorities than Obama did.

We spoke to John ... who's been a friend of Trump's for years ... and asked what he would say to people who think Trump's a racist.

"Not one racist bone in his body," Daly said ... adding, "He will do more for our country, and all the races that there are, than the Obama administration has ever thought about doing."

Daly's praise for Trump didn't stop with politics ... he even got into the President-elect's golf game and finally answers the question ... can the guy REALLY play?

WNBA superstar Candace Parker has just been hit with divorce papers from her husband, a former NBA player, who's demanding spousal support from the 2016 Finals MVP ... TMZ Sports has learned.

We obtained court docs filed by Shelden Williams -- a former Duke star who was the #5 overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft. Williams played in the NBA for 6 seasons.

Williams and Parker were married back in 2008 -- and have a 7-year-old daughter together.

According to the divorce docs, Williams says the two separated back in August and are living apart. Now, he wants to officially end their 7 year marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. He's asking for joint custody of their kid.

But get this ... Williams -- who reportedly made more than $12 MILLION during his NBA career -- is demanding spousal support from Parker. He also wants her to pay his attorneys fees.

FYI, Parker reportedly makes in the low 6-figures with the L.A. Sparks -- but crushes it overseas, where reports say she hauls in more than $1 MILLION per year. She also has major endorsements including a deal with Adidas.

We reached out to Parker's camp. So far, no word back.

Peyton Manning arrived to the L.A. set of "Modern Family" Wednesday -- where he'll be acting next to another guy who bragged about scoring 4 TDs in 1 game (#PolkHighFootballRules).

Manning is playing a sports tutor on the show -- and will be working with the toddler son of Jay (Ed O'Neil) and Gloria (Sofia Vergara).

Miesha Tate might think Ronda Rousey is done with the UFC ... but she's definitely not done with Ronda ... 'cause she says she wants one more chance to kick Rowdy's face before she retires.

We got Miesha out in NYC gearing up for UFC 205 and asked her if she's open to a third bout with Rousey ... being that the first two haven't gone her way.

The American people have spoken ... and Shannon Sharpe says he'll respect President Donald Trump the same way he respects President Obama.

The wife of Buffalo Bills kicker Dan Carpenter says she was NOT being racist when she called Richard Sherman an "animal" on Twitter this week ... but she still refuses to apologize for it.

Kaela Carpenter got herself into hot water after the "Monday Night Football" game when she lashed out at Sherman for what she claims was a dirty hit on her husband. She posted a picture of a castration device with the caption, "I know what we do on the farm when a male can't control his own rage #ActLikeAnAnimalGetTreatedLike1"

Some people freaked out -- and pointed out the long, shameful history of white people comparing blacks to animals in America.

Kaela responded on Twitter Wednesday morning ... saying, "My attempt at humor during a heated and highly controversial NFL game has not been received the way I intended."

"When I saw the out of control nature of the events that happened on the field, I jokingly wanted to relate it to life on the farm, where I grew up, and how it would have been handled there."

"Unfortunately, I did not realize that a tone of racism would dominate the response to what I intended to be a lighthearted defense of my husband."

Tom Brady isn't ready to open up about whether he voted for President-elect Donald Trump ... claiming his wife, Gisele Bundchen, wants him to keep his mouth shut when it comes to politics.

At a rally in New Hampshire earlier this week, Trump claimed he had the support of Pats coach Bill Belichick and his superstar QB ... something Gisele refuted on social media.

Brady doesn't clarify if he gave Trump permission to use his name during the rally, and makes it clear that he wants to follow his wife's orders and focus on football.

"I think that's a good decision ... made for our family."

LeBron James says Donald Trump's victory is a "challenging obstacle" for women and minorities ... but he promises to love them "even if whos [sic] now in office doesn't."

The NBA superstar was a big Hillary Clinton supporter -- and went public with his feelings on social media after her loss ... saying he's fighting the urge to lash out.

"Yes we all wanna lace up the boots, put on the hard hats and strike but that's not the answer. Love, genuine LOVE and FAITH will be the only thing that can get us through this."

He continued, "Minorities and Women in all please know that this isn't the end, it's just a very challenging obstacle that we will overcome!!"

With a ton of famous and non-famous Hillary Clinton supporters threatening to move out of the U.S. now that Trump's the President-elect ... the Lakers star decided to make a video to convince them to stay.

Serena Williams has a phenomenal athletic physique fit for tennis or whatever the hell else she wants to do when she's in a bikini on a beach ... including some boxing.

The greatest female tennis player of our era tuned out the racket of election day, and instead spent Tuesday in the Bahamas -- where her smokin' hot bod was on display and in full motion with some friends.

Conor McGregor was not impressed with the 2016 Election -- claiming neither Donald Trump nor Hillary Clinton have any real power to make a difference ... and nothing's gonna change.

The UFC superstar sat down with BT Sport before the results came in -- and he was asked for his thoughts on Trump ... and that's when he went off.

"I just could not give a bullocks ... all due respect, the whole thing is just weird to me. I don't think whoever wins, anything's gonna change."

"I don't think either of those two contenders have any power in anything, anyway. But whatever, it is what it is."

But when it comes to his own political career, Conor says don't rule him out at some point down the line ...

Bill Belichick says his letter to Donald Trump wasn't "politically motivated" -- claiming he was just supporting a guy he's been friends with for years.

Belichick addressed the letter in front of the media Wednesday morning -- the letter which congratulated Trump on a "tremendous campaign" and said he hopes Trump will "Make America great again."

Despite the political content, BB says the letter wasn't about pushing political or religious views -- it was merely about backing his friend.

Belichick says he's also friends with John Kerry -- which proves it's possible to have a genuine relationship with two guys with polar opposite political views.

Newt Gingrich TRIED to warn Hillary Clinton about counting her chickens ... sending a message to the Dems back in October ... a message that fell on deaf ears.

After the release of the Billy Bush "Trump Tapes" -- Donald was down BIG in the polls. But Newt warned about the dangers of "spiking the football" before the race was over ... and used a 2013 example from a University of Wisconsin football game to make his point.

Seems Clinton should've listened ...

By the way, there's now a buzz Gingrich could be secretary of state.
