The Game KD's Not Allowed to Bet On BBall ... And I Understand
The Game just called in to the "TMZ Sports" show ... and told us he's worked out his issues with Kevin Durant -- and understands that as an NBA star, KD is not allowed to bet on basketball.
It all started when Game went to Instagram and said he "bet Kevin Durant $20k that he'd have to donate [to the Game's youth bball organization] if I made an NBA 3 pointer all net."
Kev later told TMZ Sports he never agreed to a $20k bet -- and Game responded by calling him a "sore loser."
But now, Game says he spoke with KD on the phone -- and both chalk the whole thing up to a "miscommunication."
Game says the bet was always supposed to be about $20k in "basketball gear" that KD would donate to the league ... and insists cash was never supposed to change hands.
The rapper added, "He's a professional athlete and so, I guess the rules are they are not to gamble on basketball ... which is very understandable."
Game says KD agreed to donate the gear -- so in the end, the real winners are the kids.
Beef ... over.
Chicago Bulls Player Pleads NOT GUILTY ... to DUI Charges
Chicago Bulls forward Ronnie Brewer has plead NOT GUILTY to DUI charges in L.A. stemming from a February arrest that nobody seemed to know about ... TMZ Sports has learned.
The 29-year-old was popped around 2:15 AM in Beverly Hills on February 19th for making an illegal U-turn.
During the stop, cops say Brewer -- a solid defensive player -- appeared intoxicated ... so they gave him a field sobriety test and he bombed.
He was taken to a local hospital, where his blood was tested .... and cops say his blood alcohol level was .15 -- nearly TWICE the legal limit.
He's been charged with one misdemeanor count each of driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and driving with a .08 percent blood alcohol content.
Brewer's case is due back in court in the near future.
NY Jets WR I Taught Ronaldo to Throw a Football
New York Jets wide receiver David Nelson could have a career in QB coaching -- because he taught soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo how to throw a legit spiral ... in minutes!!!
TMZ Sports spoke with Nelson who tells us he was kickin' it with Ronaldo after the Portuguese national team finished practice at the Jets team facility in New Jersey earlier this week.
Nelson says someone threw a pigskin Ronaldo's way and he tried to throw it around -- but he had no idea what the hell he was doing ... ya know, since football isn't exactly big in Portugal.
"He was throwing it around, but he couldn't get it to spiral. He wasn't holding it right. He was grabbing it in the middle and shot putting it," Nelson says.
But that's when Nelson snapped into coach-mode -- "I showed him how to hold it ... how to throw it. For him it was his throwing motion that was weird."
"I was afraid he was gonna hurt himself! I was thinking 'all he needs to do is tear his rotator cuff throwing a football!'"
But after a few mins and some quick adjustments, Ronaldo got the hang of it, much faster than most people -- "I've tried to teach a lot of people how to throw a ball. I've spent 30, 45 minutes and been completely unsuccessful ... but with Ronaldo in literally 4 or 5 minutes, he was night and day. You could tell how athletically gifted he is."
The whole experience was a thrill for Nelson and the Jets -- "It was really cool to see what they do, how they train, how they gear up for competition, how they interact with each other. They gained a lot of fans from the Jets."
Great White Shark Captured on Drone Cam ... Swimming with Crazy Stand Up Padddlers!!
Two stand up paddlers got a toothy surprise off an L.A. area beach ... when a freakin' GREAT WHITE SHARK swam right up next to them -- and TMZ has some sick drone cam footage!
It all went down Monday in the water off Manhattan Beach. Photographer Bo Bridges was in the water with a couple of buddies when they noticed they had company ... in the form of a baby great white.
Shelly Sterling Deal I'm 'Clippers' Number 1 Fan' ... For Life!!!
TMZ Sports has obtained the $2 billion contract between Shelly Sterling and Steve Ballmer -- and there was one interesting clause ... Shelly demanded an official lifetime title before she would agree to sell the team ... "Clippers' Number 1 Fan."
It's there in plain black and white -- besides agreeing to give Shelly 12 tickets for life, "Buyer shall also give Shelly Sterling the title of "Owner Emeritus" and "Clippers' Number 1 Fan," which titles she shall retain for the duration of her lifetime."
So, sorry Clipper Darryl ... you're out, Shelly Sterling is the new Numero Uno in Clipper Town ... if the judge rubber stamps the sale.
NBA Donald Sterling Is Poison
The NBA believes Donald Sterling is toxic to the league ... and they have serious intel to back it up ... TMZ Sports has learned.
New court docs were filed in which the NBA Executive Vice President explained the devastation the Clippers and the league will face if the judge does NOT allow Shelly Sterling to sell the team to Steve Ballmer.
Among the evidence, the NBA official cites a survey of more than 500 Clippers fans which shows a majority would be less likely to support the team if Sterling remains in control.
The official also points to the fact that nearly all of the Clippers sponsors immediately terminated or suspended their relationships with the team and will NOT reactivate as long as Sterling's the owner.
There's more ... the league says several NBA players have expressed "serious reservations about playing for the Clippers" under Sterling.
The Exec. V.P. also says "Interim Clippers' management and employees have reported that staff morale is low and has caused some to consider resigning from their positions if the team is not promptly sold."
"The loss of key employees and an inability to attract replacements would cause serious damage to the team."
The judge has yet to rule -- stay tuned.
Kevin Durant I Did Tell Game I'd Donate Gear ... But I Never Bet $20k!!
More info is surfacing in the dispute between Kevin Durant and The Game -- now, the NBA star says he DID agree to donate gear to the rapper's youth basketball team ... but NEVER made a bet.
After already making a statement to TMZ Sports denying the alleged wager, Durant just took to his Twitter and wrote ... "Aight this is it. I never bet the game 20k cash. I never bet him. I told him I would give his aau team kd gear. That's all."
The tweet comes after Game blasted KD on Instagram -- saying Durant is a "sore loser" for backing out on a bet they made at Drake's house.
According to Game, KD agreed to drop $20k on gear for Game's team if he sank a 3-point shot "all net" -- which he did. Game says he has celebrity witnesses that can back him up.
Still, it seems KD is now agreeing to donate some items to Game's team -- wonder if the rapper will accept.
Shelly Sterling to Judge Approve this Sale ... Or We're Screwed
Shelly Sterling's lawyer ran to court this morning ... pleading with the judge to validate her deal to sell the Los Angeles Clippers to Steve Ballmer, and warning of dire consequences if the deal falls apart.
In Shelly's legal docs -- obtained by TMZ Sports -- she says there's no way a better deal could be found. She points out the sale price for the Clippers is more than 3 times the price of the recently-sold Milwaukee Bucks.
But Shelly is worried, because Donald is now fighting her over the sale. She says if the deal isn't iron clad by Sept. 15 ... "substantial irreparable harm ... will result." She says if that happens the NBA will likely seize the team and conduct a public auction, which will then lower the sale price.
TMZ Sports broke the story -- Ballmer has an escape clause to get out of the deal if Shelly and Donald become embroiled in a legal dispute over her authority to sell.
Shelly's lawyer, Pierce O'Donnell, wants the judge to simply validate the terms of a private agreement between Shelly and Donald -- an agreement that says if 2 neurologists determine either one of them is "incapacitated," then that person would lose all power over the team. And as we reported, that's exactly what happened with Donald last month.
Shelly also curiously mentioned a perk in the sale -- that she gets free Clippers tickets for life. Donald gets nothing because he's persona non grata for life.
NY Giants Star Prince Amukamara The Team Fat Fine ... Is $500 Per Pound!
It pays to be thin ... at least if you're on the NY Giants -- because if players are overweight, they're fined $500 PER POUND ... so says one of the team's star defensive backs.
TMZ Sports spoke with Prince Amukamara on the way out of an event at Cipriani Wall St. last night -- and he told us about the special diet rules the G-Men have to follow.
"Everyone has to meet a certain weight requirement ... and if you are overweight you get fined like $500 a pound."
But when it comes to his diet, Prince -- who's awesome btw -- told us he has his own rule ... he doesn't eat steak.
And why not? Well, you just gotta hear his answer ... pretty hilarious.
Metta World Peace Bieber Should Hang In Compton If He Wants an N-Word Pass
Justin Bieber's not a racist, he's just NOT educated ... so says Metta World Peace -- who tells us if JB wants an N-word pass, he needs to clock some serious hours in some REAL hoods.
"He's got to chill in Compton a little bit more ... ya gotta chill in Queensbridge a little bit more ... where Lil Wayne is from in New Orleans."
"You can't just use the word 'cause you're in Hollywood with urban people or people from the hood ... you gotta actually be in the trenches in the hood ... and then you can get a pass."
Still, Metta says he considers Justin a friend -- but if he REALLY wants to drop an N-bomb every now and then, he's gonna have to earn the right.
Russell Westbrook I Hook My Teammates Up ... with Free Undies!
OKC Thunder superstar Russell Westbrook doesn't care if his teammates wear his underwear -- in fact, he's ALL ABOUT IT!!
Of course, R.W.'s talking about his brand new undie line that's about to drop on Father's Day -- and while leaving a movie theater in L.A. last night, he told us his whole team is gettin' hooked up with free drawers (which should make Kevin Durant happy).
As we previously reported, Russell's got a deal with Kings and Jaxs for his own line of undies called "Why Not?" Russ started as a model for the brand before branching out with his own design.
Bonus -- we also asked Westbrook how he feels about teammate Derek Fisher getting the head coach job with the NY Knicks ... and SHOCKER, he's super happy for the guy.

The Game Kevin Durant Is a SORE LOSER!!
The Game is NOT backing down from Kevin Durant -- saying the NBA star DID make a $20k bet over a 3-point shot last week ... and is just being a "sore loser" by refusing to pay up.
Game is reacting to comments Durant made to TMZ Sports yesterday -- when he said the rapper was lying about making the bet in the first place.
Game says the two CLEARLY made a wager at Drake's party -- if Game hit a 3-point shot (all net), K.D. would write a check for $20k to help out Game's youth basketball program, the Frogg All Stars.
Now, after Game watched the TMZ footage of Durant denying the bet, he's firing back on Instagram -- saying, "Now why [Kevin Durant] frontin on the kids homie ?!?!?!? We clearly said..... "If I made the 3 from NBA range you'd supply the entire @froggallstars program with brand new Kevin Durant shoes"...... 120 kids, close to $200 a shoe equals about $20,000."
He continued, " How am I lying ???? Just say you a sore loser & you ain't wanna help the kids.... It ain't that they need it cause I bought all 120 kids Lebrons out my own pocket as you can see on their Instagram.. But I thought it would be kool for them to meet you & be able to ball in your shoes especially since they look up to you & I made the shot as WE AGREED."
Game says Drake was on hand to witness the bet -- so was James Harden and DeMar DeRozan ... and he has VIDEO of the shot.
"But don't sweat it champ," Game adds ... "we'll still support you & I'll go buy them myself just cause they mean that much to me..... 1 love - The Game."
He concluded with a bunch of hashtags -- "#FroggAllstars #NikeBasketball #iGotTheKids #itsTooHardForSomePeopleToKeepIt100 #MyOldestSonsFavoritePlayer #WhyWouldILieAboutSomethingThatsForTheKids #WhatDidiHaveToGain #PeopleHeardWhatWasSaid #AintImportantTho #NoLoveLost #illTellThemTheShoesCameFromYouAnyway #TheyWontKnowTheDifference #SadThingIsTheyreYourShoesAndItWouldntveCostYouADimeToGetThemForTheKids."
Donald Sterling Adam Silver and the NBA Are 'Incompetent'
Donald Sterling has released a statement explaining why he is once again suing the NBA ... unleashing some harsh words for the league and its commissioner, Adam Silver.
Kevin Durant The Game Is Lying I Never Made $20k Bet
Kevin Durant is calling B.S. on The Game -- telling TMZ Sports he never agreed to write a $20,000 check if the rapper hit an NBA-distance 3-pointer.
The controversy stems from a post Game put on Instagram on Wednesday -- in which he wrote, "Bet Kevin Durant $20,000 that he'd have to donate to the @froggallstars & play wit #LaFamilia in the #DrewLeague if I made an NBA 3 pointer all net."
(note - the "Frogg All Stars" is the youth basketball team that Game sponsors)
Game says several celebrities -- including DeMar DeRozan, James Harden & Drake -- were on hand to witness the wager.
Game then posted footage showing himself draining a 3 -- and then talking about the shot with Durant who was right there and watched the shot go in.
But when we saw Durant working out in L.A. on Tuesday and asked him about it -- K.D. said straight up ... "HE'S LYING."
So, what REALLY happened??? We're trying to get to the bottom of it -- stay tuned.
NY Rangers Legend DON'T COUNT US OUT YET We Still Got a Shot at the Cup!!
They might be down, but the New York Rangers are definitely NOT OUT ... so says Rangers legend Mike Richter who tells TMZ Sports the team is still ready to fight like hell.
Of course, the Rangers are down 3-0 to the L.A. Kings -- but the NHL Hall-of-Famer is optimistic ... telling us, "I think we're gonna win."
Richter -- who won the cup in '94 -- also dished out some words of wisdom to the squad ... they should probably take his advice.
Despite the fact the odds are stacked wayyy against them, Richter believes in his guys -- "L.A.'s not gonna get the cup for free. They have to go through the Rangers."
