Stephen Colbert will finally get to embrace the life of a morning person ... 'cause he's got one more season and then he's leaving late-night television behind.

More specifically, CBS announced that "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" is officially coming to an end ... which, of course, means its host will need to look for new work after May 2026.

The company made the announcement Thursday ... calling the move "purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night. It is not related in any way to the show’s performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount.”

Theo Von seems disillusioned with the American government right now ... arguing it feels like politicians aren't serving the people like they should be, while giving a few thoughts on the Gaza War and the Epstein files controversy.

We caught up with the comedian at LAX Thursday ... and, we asked him about what he would ask President Donald Trump if the Commander-in-Chief came back on his podcast "This Past Weekend."

The Idaho judge overseeing the Bryan Kohberger quadruple murder case has lifted the gag order ... but one victim's family says that's not enough -- calling for every single case document to be immediately unsealed.

Here's the deal ... on Thursday Judge Steven Hippler lifted the gag order -- allowing prosecutors to talk to media about the case -- but refused to release case docs, including evidence critical to the case. He may do that in the future.

The suspect who police believe killed an "American Idol" music supervisor and her husband has been charged with murder and burglary ... according to reports.

Fox 11 Los Angeles broke the news ... announcing prosecutors have charged 22-year-old Raymond Boodarian with two counts of murder and one count of burglary in a residential neighborhood.

The outlet also reports the murder charges include special circumstances related to allegations of multiple murders, and murder during the commission of a burglary.

Denise Richards has been granted a temporary domestic violence restraining order against her estranged husband Aaron Phypers after accusing him of physical and verbal abuse -- with gnarly photos showing her bruised up face as evidence.

In court documents filed Wednesday and obtained by TMZ, the actress and reality star alleges several instances of violence against her at the hands of her estranged husband and even says he threatened to kill her -- and himself if she were to report him to police.

Setting the scene of what she allegedly went through, Denise writes ... "Throughout our relationship, Aaron would frequently violently choke me, violently squeeze my head with both hands, tightly squeeze my arms, violently slap me in my face and head, aggressively slam my head into the bathroom towel rack" and more.
