Diddy should serve the remainder of his 50-month sentence in a federal prison as close to the New York metropolitan area as possible ... at least according to the judge who imposed the sentence.

According to new legal docs, obtained by TMZ, Judge Arun Subramanian stops short of naming a specific prison where Diddy should do hard time and instead says Diddy should stay close to home.

Besides geography, the judge says Diddy should be shipped off to a prison with "any available substance abuse program, including the Bureau of Prisons' Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP), for which he qualifies."

Former UFC fighter Suman Mokhtarian has died at the age of 33 after being shot and killed in an alleged targeted attack in Australia.

According to The Daily Telegraph, New South Wales officials believe Mokhtarian was out for a walk when the fatal encounter happened. Witnesses told police shots rang out of a red Audi around 6 PM local time before the car sped off.

Mokhtarian was shot in the upper torso ... and paramedics tried to revive him, but efforts were unsuccessful.

Mount Everest nearly claimed the lives 880 climbers ... but now they're home sweet home!

The hikers, mountain guides and other staffers were reportedly stranded by a blizzard on the China side of the world's tallest mountain ... but the New York Post -- citing state media -- reports they've all now been rescued.

Everest is a notoriously dangerous mountain to climb, and it reinforced its reputation Friday night when a large snowfall pelted the eastern slopes. About 350 people were reportedly able to get safely down over the weekend ... but the rest remained stuck, until now.

A Disneyland guest suffered a possible heart attack while riding the famed Haunted Mansion ... and was later pronounced dead, TMZ has confirmed.

Police tell us ... a woman in her 60s was found unresponsive on the Haunted Mansion ride around 6:30 PM Monday.

Disneyland emergency personnel attempted life-saving measures until Anaheim, California police officers and paramedics arrived on scene.
