It didn't take long for Sean "Diddy" Combs to see a familiar face in prison ... because he ran across a famous basketball player from Brooklyn who he's known for years ... former NBA star Sebastian Telfair.
Diddy and Bassy are the most famous inmates doing time at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey ... and they hung out Saturday in the prison yard ... and we have photos from their chat.

The Odessa Police Department tells TMZ ... they responded to the disturbance Saturday at approximately 2:52 PM. Cops said two men started arguing while waiting in line for the restroom. The incident then turned physical.
It's unclear what exactly started the argument ... but in the video, you can see 4 men paired off in separate tussles, and then more guys start running in.
Victor Conte, a central figure in one of the biggest scandals in American sports history, has died at the age of 75 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Conte's supplement company, SNAC, announced the sad news on Monday, writing ... "We are Heartbroken by the Passing of our Fearless Leader, SNAC Mastermind | SNAC CEO | Anti-Doping Advocate | Creator of ZMA | Former Tower of Power and Herbie Hancock Bassist, Victor Conte."
The post continued ... "We will Honor his Wishes. SNAC and his Legacy will Carry Forward, Strong and Forever. We LOVE you, Conte!"
