Ex-NFL star Robert Griffin III has found his new calling on the gridiron ... telling TMZ Sports he has fully caught the flag football bug ... and he's got his eyes on Olympic gold.

The former No. 2 pick in the NFL draft opened up on his new endeavor with Babcock this week ... fresh off his workouts with Team USA ahead of the IFAF World Championship in Germany.

Alycia Baumgardner is laser-focused on her fight at Madison Square Garden next weekend, but that doesn't mean she doesn't also have an eye on two of the biggest stars in the sport, Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor!

And, Baumgardner -- a bona fide star in her own right -- says she wants to go to each woman's backyard for a megafight with each.

Dawn Staley is looking to officially put her incident with Geno Auriemma behind her ... saying the two have talked since their spat at the Final Four -- and it's time "to move forward and close the chapter on how our semifinal game with UConn ended."

Staley released her statement through the Gamecocks' social media page on Tuesday, saying despite how it seemed on the court over the weekend, she has "a great deal of respect for him and what he's meant to this game."

The U-M ballers were gifted the custom bling designed by GLD right before they beat the UConn Huskies 69-63 in the title game at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Monday.

Dominiq Ponder -- a quarterback at the University of Colorado -- had double the legal limit of alcohol in his system when he was involved in a fatal car crash that took his life last month in Boulder County.

According to the medical examiner's autopsy report, obtained by TMZ Sports, Ponder's blood-alcohol content was recorded at .167 g/100 mL -- the legal limit in Colorado is 0.08.

The medical examiner also listed his cause of death as multiple blunt force injuries the 23-year-old suffered as a result of the crash.

Desmond Bane had a courtside curveball thrown his way Monday night -- and it came from an unexpected source.

Alberto was detained by law enforcement in San Luis Potosí, a large Mexican state, according to multiple reports Monday.

The detainment was reportedly the result of a complaint filed by Alberto's wife, who alleged he beat her.
